I've never been a fragrance guy. Got this with Kissaten and I'm a huge fan so far. I'm really into the scent, and my wife keeps remarking on it as well.
The solid fragrance is very solid (at least right now, as it's winter.) It takes a little bit of warming it up with my fingers before I get enough to warrant putting on. When a modest amount is put on, I find the scent lingers for hours. When I don't warm it up enough to get a decent bit on my finger, it isn't super noticable.
Throw-wise, I think it's an intimate kind of fragrance. My wife usually comments on it if she's real close by or giving me a hug, or walking behind me. Otherwise I don't think the smell emanates very far off the body. You definitely won't choke out a room on this one.
The case is HEFTY. I have been really impressed with the weight of it. I have not carried it around in my pocket yet, as I'm mildly concerned with the stuff warming up, and experiencing a little melting in my pocket. I think I read that it should stay solid up to like 104° but I don't want to ruin a pair of good pants trying it out.
